How to Replace a Watch Strap on Your Watch

Tips on Changing your Watch Strap

There are five main types of watch strap - the most common is the closed-end watch strap, but you might also have an open-ended watch strap, a cordette strap, a Swatch watch strap or a thread-through strap. Pick from below to see instructions for each type:

Standard Spring Bar Fitting 1. A Closed End Watch Strap - where the strap is held in place by a removable spring bar (for the majority of watches).

Fixed Bar Fitting 2. An Open End Watch Strap - where the strap is connected to a fixed bar on the watch case.

Cordette Strap 3. A Cordette Watch Strap - for ladies' cocktail watches.
